Privacy Policy

In short

• No account. Focussimo never asks for your name, email address or phone number.
• Your app selections stay on your iPhone. Apple's Screen Time hides which apps you pick even from Focussimo.
• Your focus history stays on your iPhone. Sessions, statistics and settings are stored only on the device.
• No ads and no tracking. Focussimo doesn't use the advertising identifier and doesn't share data with advertisers or data brokers.
• Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports are sent to PostHog's EU data centre in Frankfurt under a random ID, with your IP address discarded.
• Purchases are processed by Apple and validated through RevenueCat.

Data that stays on your iPhone

The apps you silence or allow

Focussimo uses Apple's Screen Time framework (Family Controls). When you choose apps, categories or websites, Apple gives Focussimo only opaque tokens. Focussimo cannot see which apps they stand for, and the tokens never leave your device. Apple, not Focussimo, applies the restrictions during a session.

Sessions, history and settings

Your sessions (start, end, length, whether you held to the end), your statistics and your settings are stored in Focussimo's storage on your iPhone, which its widgets and extensions share. They aren't uploaded anywhere. They may be part of your device backup in iCloud or on your computer, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Notifications and alarms

End-of-session notifications, alarms, the Live Activity and widgets are all created on the device. Focussimo doesn't use push notifications and has no server that sends them.

Usage statistics and crash reports (PostHog)

To keep Focussimo stable and to understand which features are used, the app sends anonymous usage events and crash reports to PostHog (PostHog Inc., USA), stored in the EU (Frankfurt), under a random ID created when you install it. They include the app and iOS version, device model and language, never the apps you pick, your location, or anything you type. Your IP address is discarded. PostHog acts as our processor under a data processing agreement.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable and improving it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time (see Your rights). Because the ID is random, we can't tell which data is yours. Deleting the app ends all collection and resets the ID.

Retention: events are kept only as long as they're needed for this analysis and are then deleted.

Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)

Focussimo Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, billing and refunds; we never see your payment details, name or Apple Account. Apple's privacy policy applies to this.

To check whether you have Pro, Focussimo uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) as our processor. RevenueCat receives the App Store transaction receipt, a random customer ID together with the analytics ID described above, the products purchased, prices and currency, the storefront country, and the technical data needed to reach its servers (such as your IP address, app and iOS version). We link purchase events to the anonymous usage statistics to understand how people come to Pro, but this never identifies you by name.

Legal basis: providing the purchase you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). RevenueCat processes data in the USA. Transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where RevenueCat is certified, and otherwise on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

This website

focussimo.app is served by Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). To deliver the site and protect it from abuse, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical request data such as the browser and time of access. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The site sets no cookies and has no analytics, trackers or embedded third-party content.

Children

Focussimo isn't directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU where applicable) and doesn't knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. To use these rights, email support@focussimo.app. Because Focussimo has no accounts, we may be unable to find data linked only to a random ID. For purchases, Apple can help you through reportaproblem.apple.com.

You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live or the one responsible for us.

If Focussimo starts handling data differently, this page will be updated, with the date at the top changed.
